PUBLICATION – BOOKLET ON THE NEW PACT ON MIGRATION AND ASYLUM

From the Young Researchers Seminar – The new pact on migration and asylum, organized on May 21, 2021, within the framework of the ARRECO project (The Reception and resettlement of Refugees in Europ : Categorisation and Operationalization) financed by Alliance Europa, at the Law and Political Sciences Faculty of Nantes University, the booklet aims at restitoring the reflections and contributions conducted during this seminar.

The ARRECO research projet, conducted from September 2017 to September 2021, is among the winners of the second call for proposals Research of the Alliance Europa Institute for European and Global Studes. Last May, this project organized a work seminary to analyze the new “Pact on immigration and asylum”  presented on September 2020 by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, especially its ambitions and the potential impact of the legislative proposals of the Commission affecting the Union asylum policy.

The Oragnization of this seminary was made possible thanks to the support of the Law and Social Change laboratory (UMR CNRS 6297), and of the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Nantes University, of the Alliace Europa Institute for European and Global Studies, and thanks to the help of Mrs Marie Bargain Daniel, intern of the program.

– Head of the “Justice, Trial, Procedure” Master’s degree (2nd year) (Pre-ENM) in Nantes

– Co-head of European Union Law Master’s degree (2nd year)

– Member of the Education and University Life Commission

Carole Billet is developing the research project “Legal studies on the European Union as an area of freedom, security and justice”, with the support of Alliance Europa.

She is also one of the leader of the project “The reception and resettlement of refugees in Europe: categorisation and operationalisation (ARRECO)”.

DCS (Law and Social Change) is a joint research unit between CNRS and the University of Nantes, with a legal focus and whose aim is to develop interdisciplinary relations. The common basis of the laboratory lies in its overall objective: to understand the role of law in the transformations of contemporary society. DCS emphasizes the observation of practices and approaches for evaluating the effectiveness of legal norms.
