MAXI OBEXER

Maxi Obexer was born in 1970 in Brixen, South Tyrol. She is one of the most committed authors in contemporary German-speaking theatre. Through her dramas, radio plays and sound installations, the co-founder of the Institute for New Stage Writing (NIDS) has for several years been questioning European politics, especially migration policy. The laureate of the EURODRAM 2016 prize with her play Illegale Helfer, Maxi Obexer resided in Nantes in March 2017 to begin a new creation that would follow in her wake, as part of the “Creation & Crisis” project.
