European Council simulation of the Parcours Europe

This pedagogical innovation project is coordinated by Frédéric GLORIANT, Senior Lecturer in Contemporary History at the University of Nantes, within the Research Centre for International and Atlantic History (CRHIA). The project is supported by the Alliance Europa Institute for European and Global Studies for a period of one year from September 1, 2021, in order to promote student success and their professional integration.

Project summary

When Nantes becomes Brussels just for a day!

Associating the Faculties of Law and Political Science, of History and of Languages, the team of the directors of the Parcours Europe organizes an annual Simulation of negotiation at the level of the European Council, intended for third-year students of the Parcours-Europe. The Simulation makes it possible to put into practice a large variety of skills: knowledge (on the European Union, its procedures, but also on the chosen subject of the negotiation), know-how (negotiation techniques, practice of the knowledge accumulated since the start of the Parcours-Europe curriculum – legal, historical, linguistic, economic etc.) and interpersonal skills (teamwork, listening skills, oral posture). It is also a wonderful way for students of the Parcours-Europe to conclude their three-year curriculum in Nantes, before setting off to new horizons.
