Basic Information

Duration: 1 year (2nd year of master)

If you wish to become a lawyer specializing in European law and pursue a career in France or abroad in renowned institutions, this master's degree provides you with in-depth training in European law and institutions and offers you fundamental and specialized teaching. You can then move on to professions related to European affairs anywhere in the world in the public or private sector.

The professional option leads to an internship, the research option to a research thesis.

Employment opportunities

Civil service, consulting, law firm, auditing or lobbying, the opportunities are multiple on a national and international level.

A career in research and teaching is also possible.

International dimension

  • Mandatory language course (English)
  • Courses in English: European Union and International organizations

Professionalization

  • Two-month internship (minimum)

Information and admission

To register, you must have a Master 1 in law and have attended courses in European Union law.

Access to this Master 2 is selective (based on academic record and interview).

Faculty of Law and Political Science of the University of Nantes

Located on the Tertre campus, the Faculty of Law and Political Science is one of the most important department of the University of Nantes.

CAROLE BILLET

Lecturer in European Union Law at the Law and Social Change Laboratory - University of Nantes

Research themes :

– The differentiated participation of Member States in the European Union’s action on the international scene

– Decentralised agencies and the EU’s external action

– EU action in the field of migration and asylum

– Cultural law in the European Union

Responsibilities :

– Head of the “Justice, Trial, Procedure” Master’s degree (2nd year) (Pre-ENM) in Nantes

– Co-head of European Union Law Master’s degree (2nd year)

– Member of the Education and University Life Commission

Carole Billet is developing the research project “Legal studies on the European Union as an area of freedom, security and justice”, with the support of Alliance Europa.

She is also one of the leader of the project “The reception and resettlement of refugees in Europe: categorisation and operationalisation (ARRECO)”.
