Following the collective reflection carried out during the Forum Europa#1 and particularly the challenge : “How to better communicate on Europe”. The Houses of Europe (Maisons de l’Europe) of Le Mans, Angers and Nantes wished to continue the work undertaken then with Alliance Europa to develop new communication tools and new actions on Europe to raise awareness among new audiences and to continue promoting the debate on the European Union in our region.
The Houses of Europe of Angers, Nantes and Le Mans will be organising several events (at least one per department) which will enable experts (from the academic world and civil society) and the general public to meet and exchange views on various topics related to Europe.
The events will have a “speed dating” and “knowledge bazaar” or even “human library” format with participants meeting experts in thematic mini-conferences without knowing in advance in which order they will discover the themes. The experts’ presentations will be very short and will be followed by a short exchange with the participants, all timed to ensure a fluid sequence between the presentations. The research topics will be varied, thus attracting a diverse audience, and will appeal to the curiosity and open-mindedness of the participants by proposing serious subjects as well as lighter ones. To increase the impact of the events, the experts will also be able to present their favourite themes on a radio programme (which will be broadcast on several local radio stations).
The project aims to highlight local and regional research as well as civil society expertise to the academic and general public.
