Studying in the Loire Valley

The Loire region offers students an ideal living environment. With 3 major university cities (Nantes, Angers, Le Mans), a thriving economy and a rich cultural and gastronomic life just a few hours from Paris, this region is attracting more and more people.

Student Life

3 major universities and several "grandes écoles" offer a very diverse range of training courses. In Nantes, some 38,000 young people have chosen to study at the University. There are more than 23,000 students in Angers and 11,000 in Le Mans.

The number of foreign students is constantly increasing. In Angers they now represent 11% of the total number, in Nantes this rate reaches 10.19% while it is 7% in Le Mans.

Numerous cultural and sports activities are offered throughout the year to students in the three cities. Housing and public transportation are also easily accessible. In all three cities, campuses are located close to the city centres.

European and International Dimension

The universities of Nantes, Angers and Le Mans offer several bachelor's ("licence") and master's programs focused on Europe and the international world, with classes being partly taught in English. They also offer double diplomas and several mobility programs in and outside of Europe.
